In reply to Rohn’s post on February 7, I have a similar problem, my computer is running Windows 10 and has Office installed but I can’t get Visio Premium to install. No messages. If it can’t be done I would at least like to know. Did you do a verbose loggin install?

Post the logs So the log files will be 1. Your problem is trying to mix Office with Visio. Now, the problem, whenever I am running Visio and try to save a drawing, I get a message “Visio has stopped working contacting Microsoft and it crashes”. Any ideas what could be the issue and how to fix it.

Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn’t help. Carlos, the bit installation has some issues that I want to avoid, but if nothing else works I guess maybe moving over to bit is a viable choice. Charles, Tried both the repair thing and running Visio in safe mode doesn’t help. I have tried to re-install both the office suite Word, Excel etc and Visio doesn’t help. Like you mentioned bit installation does have issues, which I want to avoid. Choose where you want to search below Search Search the Community.

S The computer is running bit Windows Thanks in advance. This thread is locked. You can follow the question or vote as helpful, but you cannot reply to this thread. My user is in maintenance so he’s pretty busy. He doesn’t use Visio every day or even every week so I’ve been waiting to hear from him.

So far, option 3 hasn’t worked. There were no add-ins anyway. So I’ve run the repair option 1. I’m waiting to hear if that worked or not. I tried as you described but the freezing is constant either opening an existing document or creating a new one. It may be related to an ongoing problem where the Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Tool causes Visio to freeze. Visio will start working normally. I’ve also come to the conclusion that there is no permanent fix. They’ve probably fixed this in a newer version but see no reason to fix it in a version that’s 7 years old.

I’m sure they just want us to spend the money on a newer version. I think I’ll try Winni’s safe mode trick first see above response. If that doesn’t work, then it’s on to the last option, ending the Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Tool process.

That one seems to be the most popular “fix” and the one people are having the most success with. I don’t think he’s touched Visio for at least a month, now. So it may still be a while until we get around to trying those options, though. None of the options worked for us. The last one stopping the TabletInputService would not work for us because the user did not have access to stop a Task Manager Service and we did not want to give him access.

Hi Sharon, I noticed that the issue only happened to one specific user with Visio Premium on Windows To narrow down the issue, please try the following steps on this Surface: 1.

Microsoft visio premium 2010 setup has stopped working free

I’m having issues on a user’s computer with an uninstall of Visio She received a new system with the app installed, but it never worked various. When I initiate the Installer through Programs and Features, I get a brief spinning circle when selecting the uninstall or change option, then nothing. If I try to run the installer again from our network source, I get the Microsoft Office installer splash page, and shortly after we get an appcrash on the installer.

The event log entry offers no information Office14 can’t find the error code I tried another installer at an alternate location and get the same thing. The Office Installer works fine for the installed Office Suite and well as MS Project, and I ran a repair of Office just to make sure there weren’t any shared files that would get corrected. However, after rebooting, the app still shows up in Programs and Features and all symptoms persist.

I’ve tried to search for more information on manually removing it, but I’m only seeing information specfic to the entire office suite. Does anyone have any insight on the manual removal process, or know of any free third party uninstall utilities that may offer some hope?

Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn’t help. I know this is for but if you change any Office12 or 12 entries to Office14 or 14 this should work for Office and Visio with some modification to the comands, but this should get you started. Thanks for your feedback, it helps us improve the site. AyushiGarg Microsoft Employee. Regards, Ayushi. Thanks George, but I already ran the new Fix It version from the link above. In reply to AyushiGarg’s post on February 7, Thanks, Ayushi. I don’t have any problem with the actual Office Suite installer or Project which is on the system as well.

I can repair and uninstall it with no issues. It’s the Visio install specifically. In reply to DChitwood’s post on February 7, Regards, Anoop. In reply to AnoopHariyani’s post on February 24, Due to Visio failing to load after it was installed on a new machine, I uninstalled Visio Professional SP1 32 bit from my Windows 7 machine which also has Office 32 bit in attempts to reinstall it again.

However, in Control Panel, Programs and Features, Visio is still showing, even after rebooting several times. When I click to uninstall it again, it does nothing. When I try to install Visio again, it fails within 1 min or less, as if it still thinks Visio is still on the machine.

I ran MicrosoftFixit. Run and it too failed. How can I get Visio removed from my program and features and how can I reload Visio again? This site in other languages x.
